The program provides access to employment services and support while helping participants work toward greater financial independence.

What is an Employment Network?

What is the American Dream Employment Network (ADEN)

The American Dream Employment Network (ADEN) is one of the nation's largest Employment Networks serving Ticket to Work participants. ADEN partners with experienced employment service providers, like Workplace Learning Solutions, to deliver personalized employment services while coordinating with Social Security's Ticket to Work Program.

What is an Individual Work Plan (IWP)?

Your Individual Work Plan (IWP) is developed with your Employment Specialist after you enroll in the Ticket to Work Program. The IWP outlines your employment goals, the services you'll receive, and the steps you'll take toward achieving meaningful employment.

Do I need a referral to participate?

No. You may contact Workplace Learning Solutions directly to determine whether the Ticket to Work Program is right for you. A referral from Social Security, Vocational Rehabilitation, or another agency is not required.

Who is eligible for the Ticket to Work program?

In general, individuals between the ages of 18 and 64 who receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) based on disability may be eligible to participate. We'll help you determine whether you meet the program requirements.

What is the difference between SSDI and SSI

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) provides benefits to individuals who have worked and paid Social Security taxes before becoming disabled.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a needs-based program for individuals with disabilities who have limited income and resources.

Although both programs support individuals with disabilities, the eligibility rules and the way employment affects benefits can differ.

Is there a cost to participate?

No. Ticket to Work services provided through Workplace Learning Solutions are available at no cost to eligible participants.

Will working cause me to lose my social security benefits?

Not necessarily.

The Ticket to Work Program includes work incentives that encourage individuals to explore employment while understanding how work may affect their benefits. Every situation is different, and the impact depends on factors such as the type of benefit you receive, your earnings, and your individual circumstances.

Workplace Learning Solutions can help you understand the program and connect you with benefits planning resources when needed.

Will I lose my Medicare or Medicaid if I go to work?

Not necessarily.

Many participants continue to qualify for healthcare while working through Social Security work incentives. Because each person's situation is unique, we'll help you understand available resources and connect you with benefits planning assistance when appropriate.

How long does it usually take to find a job?

There is no standard timeline. Finding the right job depends on many factors, including your employment goals, work history, local job market, and the type of position you're seeking. Your Employment Specialist will work with you throughout the process to help you move toward your employment goals.

Can I choose the type of job I want?

Yes.

Your employment goals, interests, abilities, and preferences are important. Your Individual Work Plan (IWP) is developed around the type of work you want to pursue and the services needed to help you achieve your goals.

What if I change my mind about participating?

Participation in the Ticket to Work Program is voluntary. If your goals or circumstances change, talk with your Employment Specialist so we can discuss your options and help you make an informed decision.

What if I start working and discover it's too difficult?

Returning to work can be an adjustment, and it's normal to experience challenges. If your job isn't a good fit or your circumstances change, contact your Employment Specialist as soon as possible. We'll work with you to evaluate your options and determine the most appropriate next steps.

Can Workplace Learning Solutions help me keep my job after I'm hired?

Yes.

Our goal is not only to help you obtain employment but also to help you succeed in your new position. Depending on your Individual Work Plan (IWP), we may provide ongoing employment support and follow-up services after you begin working.

Do I have to report my earnings?

Yes.

If you are receiving Social Security disability benefits, you are responsible for reporting your earnings to the Social Security Administration (SSA) according to their reporting requirements.

In addition, Workplace Learning Solutions asks participants to submit their pay information to us. This allows your Employment Specialist to monitor your progress, verify earnings, track important work incentives, and help identify potential issues before they become larger problems.

Timely reporting helps us provide the best possible support throughout your employment journey.

Why do I need to submit my pay stubs to WLS?

Your pay stubs are an important part of your ongoing employment support.

As a Certified Work Incentives Practitioner (CWIP), Workplace Learning Solutions uses your earnings information to:

- Monitor your progress toward your employment goals.

- Track important Social Security work incentives.

- Help identify changes that may affect your benefits.

- Provide more informed guidance throughout your employment journey.

- Ensure accurate documentation for your Ticket to Work services.

Submitting your pay stubs to WLS does not replace your responsibility to report your earnings directly to the Social Security Administration. Both are important parts of participating successfully in the Ticket to Work Program.

How do I submit my pay stubs or employment information?

Reporting your employment is an important part of participating in the Ticket to Work Program.

Each time you begin a new job, experience a change in employment, or receive a paycheck, you should promptly submit your employment information and pay stubs through the Ticket to Work Employment Network page in the WLS Client Portal by selecting Upload Documents or Report Employment.

Providing your employment information helps Workplace Learning Solutions:

Monitor your progress toward your employment goals.

Track your work incentives and benefits-related milestones.

Provide timely guidance and support throughout your employment journey.

Maintain accurate program documentation.

Please remember: Submitting your pay stubs to WLS does not replace your responsibility to report your earnings directly to the Social Security Administration (SSA). Both are important and help ensure you receive the appropriate support and benefits information.

Can I receive services if I already have a job?

Yes.

Many participants enter the Ticket to Work Program after they've already found employment. Services may focus on maintaining employment, advancing your career, increasing your earnings, or helping you achieve greater financial independence.

Do I have to work full time?

No.

Employment goals are individualized. Depending on your circumstances, part-time or full-time employment may be appropriate. Your Employment Specialist will work with you to develop a plan that supports your personal employment goals.

Can I participate if I previously worked with Vocational Rehabilitation?

Often, yes.

Many individuals transition from Vocational Rehabilitation to the Ticket to Work Program after completing VR services. If you're unsure whether you're eligible, contact Workplace Learning Solutions and we'll help you determine your options.

How soon should I submit my paystubs?

We encourage participants to submit their pay stubs as soon as they become available. Timely reporting helps your Employment Specialist monitor your progress, provide appropriate support, and identify potential work incentive or benefits-related issues as early as possible.

Will you tell me whether I should go to work?

No. That decision is always yours.

Our role is to provide information, guidance, and individualized employment services so you can make informed decisions that align with your goals. We'll support you throughout the process, but you'll always remain in control of your employment journey.
